Patrick Joseph Paen was born on March 19th, 1930 in Rye, New York to parents Alex and Philomena (Phylis) Paen. Alex Paen was a gardener in Rye who, who at 10 years old, had emigrated with his family from Italy in 1912. Patrick and his older brother Louis Alex Paen, born on April 30th, 1928, lived with their parents on 49 Maple Avenue. Patrick attended Rye High School and participated in numerous musical groups, including the small Dance Band and the school band that would often play at football games. Following his graduation in 1947, Paen married Enea Marini and the couple later went on to have two children. Prior to enlisting, Paen worked for the Town of Rye Department of Public Works. On March 15th, 1951, Patrick J. Paen enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, eventually earning the rank of Private First Class.

PATRICK J. PAEN
Patrick Joseph Paen, twenty nine. 37 High Street, died Sunday at Grasslands Hospital where he had been a patient for a week. Funeral services were held yesterday at the William H. Graham Funeral Home, followed by a Solemn Requiem Mass at the Church of the Resurrection. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
A native of Rye. Mr. Paen was employed by the City highway department for three years and by Arnold Bakers for seven years. He was a graduate of Rye schools and attended Rye High School.
He was the son of Philomena Francisco and Alexander Paen, who live at 4 Westview Chester. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Enea Marini; three sons, Alexander, six; Joseph, five, and Jerry, two; three sisters, Mrs. Christine LoParco and Nancy Paen of the Port Chester address, and Mrs. Carrie Scafa of Rye, and a brother, Louis of Greenwich.
