Frederick Raymond Perry

Frederick Raymond Perry was born on October 30, 1922, in Pleasantville, New Jersey, to Addie Ruth Coles, age 34, and Joel Chester Perry, age 41. A graduate of Rye High School, he was employed formerly with the Buick Motor Company before enlisting in 1942. In Rye his family lived at 37 New Street.

Frederick enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served as a cook in the Army for two years in the States having enlisted in July, 1943, and discharged in December, 1945.

In 1952 Frederick transferred to the United States Air Force and served during Korea and Vietnam. He retired after 20 years of service.

Frederick R. Perry, 87 passed away February 9, 2010 at Sentara Careplex Hospital, Hampton, VA.

Frederick was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Bertha Agnes Perry. He was survived by his sister, Carolyn Antoine of Uniondale, New York; his daughter Deborah ( Charles III) Adams of Yorktown, VA; his sons, Stephen (Anne) Perry of Goldsboro, NC; Gregory Perry of Yorktown, VA, Wendell ( Theresa) Perry of Newport News, VA and Joel Perry of Portsmouth ,VA; 18 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of friends and family that loved him dearly.

Burial was at Hampton National Cemetery.
