George S. Baron was born on August 3, 1929 in Westchester, New York. In Rye he lived on 1175 Boston Post Road, and he was the son of John and Amelia Baron. He was the youngest of four siblings. His siblings’ names in order of age were Helen, Marion, and John. He had a full house, as it contained both parents, 4 siblings, and his grandmother Anna Baron. His Father was born in Austria and made his living by being a mechanic. His mother was born in Connecticut and married John when he moved to the states. George Baron was a Rye High School graduate, class of 1948. His yearbook quote described him as having a “carburetor for a heart”, and included the phrase “Semper Paratus”, which translates to “Always Ready.” George appears to have been introverted as he participated in no clubs or sports at RHS and also did not win any awards or class office positions. After graduation George enlisted in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War. He passed away at the age of 89 on February 8th 2018 in Annapolis, Maryland.
