Nathan Bennett Nathan Bennett was born Sept 8 1922 in Jacksonville Fla to Frank and Lucille Brown Bennett. As a child Nathan moved to Edisto Island, SC and later moved to New York City and Port Chester. In Rye his family lived on 52 Grapal Street.
Nathan enlisted in the Army in 1941 serving in Europe during World War II. He remained in the Army after the war and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1962 as a sergeant
Nathan later settled in North Charleston, SC where he worked in the maintenance department of WCBD-TV until re tiring in 1988.
Nathan Bennett a former resident of Port Chester and Rye died of cancer Thursday at Medical University Hospital in Charleston SC He was 68.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his foster father Leonard Hines of Rye a foster sister Carol Worthington of Rye, a foster brother Richard Hines of Port Chester an aunt Helen Blue of the Bronx and two uncles Frank Brown of Queens and Cephus Brown of New York City
Arrangements were handled by the Holman Scott Funeral Home of Moncks Comer SC
