Michael J. Calo was born in New York in 1918 in Rye to Nicholas and Catherine Lambarelli Calo. He had five brothers Frank, Joseph, Peter, Mian and John Calo.
In Rye his family lived at 82 Maple Ave. and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.
Michael enlisted on October 23, 1942, when he was 24 years old and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He died on November 21, 1995, in Broward, Florida, at the age of 77.
