Description

Robert L. Dion was born on August 17, 1932 in Oneida, New York. He lived on 16 Overlook Place in Rye with his father, William Charles Dion, his mother, Agnes S. Dion, and his two siblings, William, and Sucialle Dion. Robert attended Rye High School from 1948-51. While attending Rye High school, Robert was a member of many class committees. He was a member of the JV and varsity baseball teams, as well as playing for the varsity hockey team. In 1951, Robert won the Dad’s club drama award. Robert graduated from Rye High School in 1951. Upon graduating from high school, Robert proudly served his country in the Korean War.

Our beloved Robert L. Dion, age 85, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sigrid (nee Winters) Dion; his parents, William and Agnes Frances (nee Street) Dion, and his sister-in-law, Betty Dion.

He is survived by his loving children, Robert “Bob” Dion and his wife, Sandy, and Doug Dion and his wife, Michele; his grandchildren, Amy Dion, Cameron Dion, Alyson Dion, Sophie Dion, and Jack Dion; brother, Bill Dion, and sister, Lucille Di Giorgio and her husband, Louie, and many other loving family and friends, including his long time best friend and care provider, Ms. Della Vallejo.

Visitation, Tuesday, January 16, 2018, from 11:30 am until time of prayer service 1:30 pm, at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights, IL. Interment at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine, IL.
