Description
David Wilson Foster was born on February 12, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, to Margaret E Wilson, age 29, and David Gray Foster, age 29. In Rye his family lived at 3 Allendale Drive and were members of the Presbyterian Church.
David attended Rye High School and graduated from Choate, where he was captain of the basketball team. He then attended the University of Connecticut leaving after two years to enlist.

David enlisted December 9, 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a Pharmacist Mate 1/c , service # 7101003. Through US Navy Muster Rolls we see he served for some time on the USS Nutmeg.
USS Nutmeg (AN-33/YN-33) was an Aloe-class net laying ship which was assigned to serve the U.S. Navy during World War II with her protective anti-submarine nets.
Through the spring of 1945 Nutmeg was engaged in maintaining and repairing net defenses in Boston Harbor. In May she was attached to Commander Task Force 24 for the purpose of maintaining the anti-torpedo net in Placentia Harbor, Argentia, Newfoundland.
David married Nancy Isobel Adamson on November 4, 1944, in Rye, New York. They had five children during their marriage. In 1950 he was living in Norwalk, CT and working as a sales rep for a cotton goods manufacturer
David Wilson Foster died on February 4, 1986, in Middlebury, Vermont, at the age of 61, and was buried in Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, New York.
