Rene Alex Hirst

Ronald “Ren├⌐” Alex Hirst was born on December 3, 1926, in Vienna, Austria, his father, Fredrick, was 30 and his mother, Herv├╕, was 28.

In Rye his family lived at 50 Hill Street. Rene was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1943.

He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. While serving off Okinawa Rene’s ship was caught in a Typhoon. His account of the experience is quoted in below article.

He married in 1951 in Brazil. He had two children during his marriage.

He died on March 17, 1994, in Surprise, Arizona, at the age of 67.
