Description

Stephen J. Ketterer, also known as Steve, was born on August 23rd, 1930. In Rye, he lived at 80 Fairway Avenue. Steven was a Rye High School graduate, Class of 1948. In high school, he was seen as a quiet, sensible, self-reliant, and grand student. During his high school years, Steven was on the basketball and baseball team and was part of the leaders’ club. Before being accepted in the leaders’ club, Steven had to pass an Athletic Achievement Test. The main responsibility of the club was to have leadership in the athletic activities in school, to supervise intramural athletics, and take care of candy concession after school. Additionally, Steven was part of the ” Los Hidalgos” club, and the Scholarship Group. During the Korean War, Stephen served in the US Army as a 5th Regimental Combat Team.
