James Francis Lynch was born on August 18, 1926, in Bronx, New York, to Marie Dineen Brady, age 29, and James Francis Lynch, age 27. In Rye his family lived at 48 Elmwood Ave and also had a home in Palm Beach, FL. James attended Rye Schools, he left Rye High School before his senior year to enlist in the service.

James enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

After the war, he had attended the University of Maryland, Loyola of Maryland and completed a three year program in ferrous metallurgy at Penn State University.

James married Amelia Michael Rolek and they had one son and one daughter. They were married 58 years.

He moved to Clearwater Florida in 1982 from Bethlehem, Pa., having retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., engineering department after 32 years.

He was a member of the association of Stone & Steel Engineers. He and his wife traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. He built a collection of models of New England fishing schooners and sailing vessels from original blue prints as a hobby in retirement.

He was an avid reader of history and visited many historic sites in his travels. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Clearwater.

James Francis Lynch, 80, of Clearwater, FL died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at his residence.

At the time of his death he was survived by his wife of 58 years, Amy, a daughter Leslie Westerman of Bethlehem, Pa.; a son J. Michael of La Canada, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Jill Boyer of Bethlehem, Pa., Laura Westerman of Birmingham, Ala., Aidan and Oliva Lynch, both of La Canada, Cailf.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at All Saints Catholic Church in Clearwater.
