H. Graeme Macdonald married Frances Townsend in New York City, New York, on December 8, 1930, when he was 21 years old. In Rye his wife and three children, Marcia, Stuart and Wendy lived at 60 Mendota Ave and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Before the war he worked for Abercrombie Fitch Co. , New York.
Howard served as an officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Captain MacDonald Awarded Bronze Star
Capt. Howard Graeme MacDonald, U. S. Air Force, has been awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service in direct support of combat operations. Capt. MacDonald has been in the service since January, 1943, and has been in action in North Africa, Corsica, and now in Italy. He lives on Mendota Avenue with Mrs. MacDonald and their three children, Marcia, Stuart and Wendy. Before joining the Army, Capt. MacDonald was with Abercrombie Fitch Co. , New York.

Graeme moved to Vermont after the war and had lived In Weston and Dorset. He was a major in World WarII, and was vice president of the Bromley Ski Club.
Memorial services for Howard Graeme Macdonald, 56, who died suddenly Sunday may 8, 1966 in Shelburne, VT were conducted at the Dorset Congregational Church officiated by the Rev. Robert Dana, pastor.
At the time of his death he was survived by his wife, the former Martha deSchwelnltz; two daughters, Mrs. Marcia Neugbauer of Altadena, Calif., and Miss Wendy MacDonald of Sierra Madre, Calif.; a son, Stuart MacDonald of New York City; two granddaughters, and a brother, Donald MacDonald of New York City.
