Frank J. Peterson was born October 9, 1921 to Guiseppe and Catherine Petrucciano.
He had five sisters and three brothers. In Rye his family lived at 73 Maple Avenue,. The family were parishioners of the Church of the Resurrection. Frank attended Rye schools and was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1940.

He enlisted in 1944 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Frank served with in the medical corps with the 64th Field Hospital.
A field hospital is a temporary hospital or mobile medical unit that takes care of casualties on-site before they can be safely transported to more permanent facilities.
The 64th Field Hospital, United States (U.S.) Army, was activated at Camp Ellis, Illinois in March 1944 and served as a front line unit during World War II.
At the close of the war, the hospital treated French and German civilians in addition to U.S. troops. The 64th returned to the U.S. in August 1945.
Frank returned home and was extremely successful in the mangement of factory operations, He worked many years for the for Perker Elmer Corp.
