Ray Guy Rodemich

Ray Guy Rodemich was born on December 5, 1918, to Eugene Rodemich and Henrietta Pouk in St. Louis, Mo. He had one sister, Jeanne, and in Rye his family lived at 14 Greenhaven Road.

Ray was graduated from Wesleyan University, and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and of the Westchester Country Club. Before the war he was working with the Guaranty Trust Company in New York.

Ray served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II. He spent 26 months in the Pacific Theatre. During the Korean Conflict he was now a Captain and had been in the Army for eight years. He was assigned to the Army Chemical Center in Edgewater, MD

He married Loretta Marie Moffett in 1942 in Forest Glen, Maryland. They had one child during their marriage.

For more than 30 years, Ray lived on Greenhaven Road in Rye. He was a renowned sailor and a yacht broker at Nichols Yacht Yard in Mamaroneck. In 1975 he moved to Blackberryhill Village, Brewster.

Raymond Guy Rodemich died on July 2, 1983 at the Putnam County Hospital in Brewster, after a short illness. He was 64.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his son, Guy Rodemich Jr. of Westport, Conn.; a sister, Jeanne Salinger of Marlboro, Mass.; and two grandchildren. The family is making donations to the American Cancer Society.
