Robert C. Rose
Robert Calvin Rose was born on October 3, 1911, in Washington, District of Columbia, to Harriet Amelia Peters and Claude Custer Rose. He had one sister Jean and in Rye his family lived on North Street and were members of the Presbyterian Church. Robert was a graduate of Yale ’33, Yale Law School ’36. Before entering the service was connected with the legal department of the Long Island Railroad.
Robert enlisted February 28, 1942 and served as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
Lieut. Rose Transferred
Lieut. Robert C. Rose, U. S. C. G. , son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Rose of North Street, has been temporarily transferred to St. Augustine, Fla.

He married Anne Gleason Bradley on March 11, 1944, in in the First Presbyterian Church of New York City. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. John D. Gregory of Rye. A reception was held afterwards at the Hotel Brevoort. The couple will make their home in New York City., where Lieutenant Rose was stationed.
After his honorable discharge January 8, 1946, the couple moved to Brookhaven, Long Island. Robert would enjoy a long career in law and retire to Albuquerque, NM.
Robert Calvin Rose, 86, a resident of Albuquerque for one year, died Monday, January 19, 1998.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Sara Alice Rose of Albuquerque; niece, Julie Roberts and husband, Paul of Medford, MA; and nephew, Peter Stephens and wife, Janice of Morristown, NJ.
