Description
Harold Jack Sherman was born on June 15, 1926, in New Jersey to Samuel and Ida Segal Sherman. He had one brother Arnold and in Rye his family lived at 470 Milton Road.
Harold was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1943. In School he ran track played football and baseball and was a member of the National Honor Society.
He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Harold served as a Petty Officer for 18 months in the Pacific Theater of Operations.


He married Lucille Thomson Olive on November 8, 1952, in Mecklenburg, North Carolina.
Harold was a former student of Syracuse and Cornell Universities.
He received his degree from the University of Georgia where he was a member of Phi Mu Epsilon.
For many years he worked for Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company in Atlanta.
Harold Jack Sherman died on August 11, 1993, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 67.
At the time of his death he was survived by wife, Ann L Sherman; daughters, Betsy Beasley, Houston, TX Lisa Mclinskey, of Carrolrton, GA; son, Michael A. Sherman, of Marietta; brother, Arnold Sherman, Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, August 14, 1993 at Sandy Springs Chapel. Nancy Pagett officiated.
