James T. Soutter
James T Soutter was born May 19, 1907, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Helen Eugenia Battelle, age 29, and James Taylor Soutter, age 26. In Rye his family lived at 20 Grace Church Street and were members of Christ’s Church.
He married Sarah Louise Downey on January 7, 1933, in New York City, New York. They had four children during their marriage.
Before the war he was working at the Home Lite Corp. in Port Chester, NY. James served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.
After his honorable discharge James worked for many years as an executive in the chemical manufacturing industry.
James Taylor Soutter died on August 25, 1980, in St Thomas, Virgin Islands (US), at the age of 73.
