Stanley Cleveland WhiteStanley Cleveland White was born on January 22, 1903, in New York City, New York, to Virginia Thomas Shoemaker, age 26, and Howard Erskine White In Rye his family lived on Highland Road. Stanley was a graduate of Hotchkiss School and Yale University and held a degree in engineering.
He married Marjorie Hitt on April 30, 1927, in Rye, New York. They had one child during their marriage. Just prior to the war, from 1936 to 1942 he was manager and cost engineer for the Lithographers Association.
Stanley served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Engaged in the construction field prior to World War II, he served at a number of stations in the United States from 1942 to 1946 as a commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
Stanley C. White, of Scarsdale, formerly of Rye, has been commissioned lieutenant, U. S. N. R. , and has left for active duty. Mrs. White is the former Miss Marjorie Hitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Hitt ot Highland Road.

After his honorable discharge, from 1946 to 1953, he was associated with Morse Twist & Drill of Rhode Island. He then became treasurer of Greeff Fabrics Inc. 150 Midland Ave., Port Chester. He was treasurer of the fabric firm for 14 years. He was a member of the Society of Cost Accountants and lived briefly in Rye Town after joining Greeff in 1953.
Stanley Cleveland White, Greeff Fabrics Treasurer, died on October 21, 1967, in Bayside, New York, at the age of 64. He was buried in Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, New York.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his second wife Lucille, she was credit manager for Greeff and had been employed by the firm since 1948.
In addition to his wife, he was survived by a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Whiting of Pomona, Calif.; two grandchildren, two brothers, Daniel of Elm Grove, Wise., and Thomas of Orlando, Fla..
