Stanley Adams Wilde Jr. was born on April 20, 1924, in New York City, New York, to Elizabeth Keil and Stanley A Wilde Sr. In Rye his family lived at 66 Milton Road. He was a graduate of Rectory School, Pomfret, Conn and graduated from Berkshire Preparatory School in Massachusetts, class of 1944.

Stanley enlisted December 23, 1944 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He had three years in the AAF in which he served as a flight officer. He received his flight training in Texas on Curtiss P-40 Warhawks and was assigned to the 2537th AAF Base Unit.

The 2537th AAF Base Unit was an Army Air Forces (AAF) unit tasked with conducting the Basic Pilot School at Perrin Field in Sherman, Texas. The unit was active during and immediately after World War II, primarily involved in the training of pilots.

Road, Flight Officer Wilde had a year
ot flying at Berkshire School, Cheshire, Mass., before entering the service nearly two years ago. He is a
graduate of Rectory School, Pomfret,
Conn., and went into active duty with
the Air Corps following his graduation from Berkshire.

Stanley was honorably discharged October 25, 1945 as his unit was demobilized at the end of the war.

He married Jeanne Chrysler on July 13, 1946, in Campbell, Virginia. At the time, he was a student in the commerce school of the University of Virginia, where he was president of Kappa Sigma fraternity at the university. The couple would have three children during their marriage.

Stanley and family eventually would live in Libertyville, IL. and in 1961, their house was featured in area newspapers as Home of the Week. He was well known in the food service industry and Vice President of Foulds, Inc., in Libertyville.

Stanley A. Wilde, 60, of Libertyville, died March 22, 1985, beloved husband of Jeanne; loving father of Peter, William and Pastor Michael Wilde; grandfather of Ryan and Rachael; brother of Virginia Mahistedt.

A Memorial Service was held at Grace Lutheran Church, Libertyville.
