William Wood
William Wood was born on April 10, 1895, in Stamford, Connecticut, to Hester Ann Demarest, age 42, and Henry Wood. He was raised and educated in Stamford and had three brothers.
William registered for The service in June 1917 for World War I, at the time he was a Tool Maker apprentice at Yale and Town in Stamford. It is unclear of his service during the first world war. He married Lena Ravin on July 7, 1928, in Rye, New York. In Rye his families address remains unknown.
William enlisted and served during World War II and is recognized on the Rye City Hall Roll of Honor. Both before and after the war he was a master tool maker still working for Yale and Town
William Wood died September 2, 1963, at the age of 68. He was buried in Fairfield Memorial Park, Fairfield, CT.
