Theodore S. Bassett
Theodore Sheldon Bassett was born on June 10, 1911, in Rye, New York, to Alice L Wells, age 29, and Theodore W Bassett, age 41. Theodore attended Choate and Yale. In Rye his family lived at 400 Park Ave and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.
Theodore married Susan Slater in Cathedral, Colorado, on October 12, 1939, when he was 28 years old.
He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In later years he became a well-known international sportsman.
Theodore Sheldon Bassett died on June 27, 1983, in Los Angeles, California, when he was 72 years old. At the time of his death he was survived by two daughters, Theodora Bassett Corroon, and Caroline Elizabeth Bassett, and two grandchildren, Amanda Bassett Corroon and Hugh Scott Corroon.
