Thomas A. Bassett was born in New York in 1922. In Rye his family lived at 73 Greenleaf St. and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Thomas enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Irene McCallum Is Bride Irene Sherman McCallum, daughter of Mrs. Julius Went-worth Noyes of New York and Delray Beach, Fla., and the late .Tnhn Sherman McCallum of Washington, D. C, was married yesterday to Thomas Anthony Bassett. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Humphrey T5sett of Rve. The ceremony took place in the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer. The bride, given in marriage by her stepfather, Julius W. Noyes, wore a dress in Empire style of ivory peau de soie, with a tulle veil attached to a cap of peau de soie. She carried a sheaf of calla lilies. Her sister, Mrs. Arthur Murray Jr., was matron of honor. A Finch Junior College graduate, the bride is a member of the New York Junior League. Her bridegroom, a Taft School graduate, is with the Street and Smith publications. The reception was in the Colony Club.
