William J. Flanagan

William J. Flanagan was born on September 12, 1913 in Brooklyn, New York, to Mary E Ferguson, age 31, and John J Flanagan, age 45. He had four sisters Mary, Margaret, Honor and Helen and two brothers Frank and Thomas. In Rye his family lived at 70 Grace Church St and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.

William attended Mt. Hermon Prep School in Mt Hermon, Ma. Where he played football and was an honors student.

William enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He married Martha J Maya Hanley Flanagan on September 12, 1936, in New York. They had two children during their marriage.

He died on October 24, 1953, in Barrington, Rhode Island, at the age of 40, and was buried in Rhode Island.
