BIOGRAPHY
William S. Henefield
William S. Henefield was born April 16, 1921 in Rye, the son of Victor L and Katherine Scanlon Henefleid. He had three brothers

Victor
and two sisters Noray and Patricia. In Rye his family lived at
12 Palisade Place
and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. William was a graduate of Resurrection School and Rye High School.
William enlisted and served in the U.S. Marines from 1942 to 1944, during World War II.
A life-long resident of Rye, William continued the trucking business originated by his father. He was the husband of the former Ruth Thomsen of Port Chester, and was married Sept. 1, 1945.
A Requiem Mass was held at the Church of the Resurrection for William Francis Henefield, 42, who died Saturday morning December 14, 1963 at his home, 86 Midland Avenue.
At the time of his death he was survived by his wife and mother, three daughters, Susan Elizabeth, 16, Ellen Diane, 12, and Margaret Ruth, 7; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas O'Neill and Mrs. William Caesar and two brothers Frank and Joe both from Rye.
Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
