BIOGRAPHY
Wade F. Headen
Wade Franklin Headen was born on March 9, 1924, in Winston, North Carolina, the son of Colinza and George Headen. Frank attended Lutheran College in Greensboro, NC.
As a young man he worked at Playland and then S&K Manufacturing Company. In Rye his family lived at
36 Cedar Place.
Frank enlisted in 1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served for several months in the Signal Corps before receiving a medical discharge in March 1944 for an arthritic knee.
Frank was a truck driver for over 30 years & was active in his church & community. He spent many years in NY and Massachusetts. He married Kathleen Mathis in 1997 and moved to Delaware.
Frank Headen Age 77 entered into eternal rest with God on Dec. 11, 2001 in Christiana Hospital, DE.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife Kathleen, children Jacqueline Stroman, Deborah Spears, Beverly Moss & Sylvia Douglin, stepchildren of Mark Betts, Caren Benjamin, Lallie, Louis & Jerry Perkins. Also survived by 20 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a host of cousins, other family & friends. He was predeceased by his brother Andrew Headen.
The funeral was held at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Newark, DE.
