John C. Taylor

John Charles Taylor was born on May 14, 1921, in Rye, New York, to Charlotte M. Watherne, age 32, and Ralph E Taylor, age 27. He had three sisters Alice, Charlotte and Muriel and two brothers Ernest and Ralph.

In Rye his family lived at 31 Grapel Street and were members of Christ Church. In 1940 at the age of 18, John was a middle child with 3 sisters and two brothers. John's father was 46 and his mother was 50. His father was born in Connecticut and his mother was born in Canada. John and his siblings were born in New York.

John enlisted in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.


SERGEANT JOHN C TAYLOR
veteran of three years and two months of army service Including the campaigns of Okinawa Leyte and other Pacific islands has been honorably discharged from the service and is now at his home, 31 Grapel Street, Rye.

John is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R E Taylor who have two other sons in the service, Ralph as a member of the famous 10th Mountain Division and Ernest E who is in the Navy. Ralph veteran of the campaign in Italy is awaiting discharge af the Separation Center at Camp Carson CO. and Ernest is stationed in the Philippines after seeing combat service in both the Atlantic and Pacific areas.

John said today that he intends to return to the automobile business in which he was engaged before he entered the service.

He married Marjorie Maryscuk on August 17, 1947, in Castile, New York.

He died in December 13, 1981 at the age of 60.
