Michael A. Vecchiolla

Michael A. Vecchiolla was born in New York April 5, 1924. In Rye his family lived at 124 Maple Ave and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.

He lived with his father, Micheal Vecchiolla, his mother, Lucia, his younger brothers, Anthony, Leonard, John, Daniel, and one sister, Laura. Both parents were both born in Italy, while all the children were born in New York.

Growing up in Rye, Michael was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1942. In high school he was a member Fingerprints and Boxing Club and a Junior Coach.

Michael enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.


On August 1, 1948 Mr. Vecchiolla married Regina DiFabio at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester, NY.

Michael worked for the U.S. Post Office in Port Chester, NY for 33 years before retiring May 31, 1985. He was a member of American Legion Post 93 P.C. NY. and was associated with the Apawamis Country Club in Rye, NY for 67 years.

Michael A. Vecchiolla, of Port Chester, NY died suddenly on Monday, March 28, 2005. He was 80 years old.

He was survived by his wife Regina DiFabio, three sons; Michael of Armonk, NY, Thomas of Alexandria, VA, and John A. of Yorktown Heights, NY, as well as his brother Anthony of Port Chester, NY and nine grandchildren. Family memberd who died earlier include his brothers Daniel, Leonard T. and Doctor John Vecchiolla and his sister Laura Spauling.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Corpus Christi Church, Port Chester, NY. Interment followed at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
