Hugh Christopher ArdleighChris grew up in Rye, N.Y., and graduated from Rye High School. Chris attended the prestigious West Point Military Academy and graduated in 1972, Company 1, and then proudly served in the United States Army. Chris worked as an engineer and intelligence officer before retiring to live near the beach.
Chris married Susan Burns at the West Point Cathedral and they raised four beautiful daughters.
Hugh Christopher Ardleigh passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in Del Mar, Calif., at the age of 75.
He is survived by his four daughters, three grandchildren, and cat, Garfield.
The family will have a private memorial in California. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to West Point Class of 1972 Class Fund or to your local animal shelter, as Chris was a life long pet owner.

Chris and I were in the same class at Rye High School and were friends. He was such a good guy and always a friend. I was sorry to hear that he passed away this past August. I didn’t know he served in Vietnam because after High School I never saw him. I wonder if he wbas there when I was there.

Chris was a classmate of mine at Rye High School, class of 1965, and a team mate on the baseball team. He was a terrific guy who made everyone in his presence comfortable. Didn’t realize he had gone on to the West Point and served in Vietnam. He will be missed by all who knew him.
