Francis (Frank) J. Bisceglia

Francis (Frank) Jeremiah Bisceglia was born on May 1, 1915, in Rye, New York, to Arcangela Ratigliano, age 37, and Jeremiah Bisceglia, age 44. He had an older brother Leonard and twoo sisters Elizabeth and Frances. In Rye his family lived at 11 Florence Avenue and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Frank attended Harrison High School

He enlisted in U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Frank entered service on April 15 1942 underwent training at Keesler Field, MS prior to shipment overseas on January 14, 1943 He served as a corporal and served 25 months in the African and European theaters.

Frank served in a supply and transportation unit while overseas He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and European Theatre Ribbon.

He married Marita Curtin in 1942. They had six children during their marriage.

Frank lived his entire life in Westchester County, New York until moving to Nashville in 1992. He retired in 1980 as the President of Bisceglia Plastering Corporation, a company founded by his father in 1908. A long time member of the Knights of Columbus, he was also active in local politics, and a member of numerous boards and commissions.

Frank J. Bisceglia 83, died at his residence in Nashville on April 21, 1998 after a long illness.

At the time of his death he was survived by his wife of 56 years, Marita Curtin and six children, Marita-Jane Brown (Hoit), Francis X (Margaret), Elizabeth Anne, Clare, Gerard T. (Anne), and Michael C. (Maura) Bisceglia. Thirteen grandchildren, one greatgrandchild and a sister also survived.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Henry’s Roman Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Road, Nashville was held on Friday, April 24, 1998 at ten o’clock.

The celebrant was Bishop James Niedergeses with Monsignor George Rohling, Reverend Michael Johnston and Reverend Stephen Gideon. Burial was followed at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
