Aldo J Corradi

Aldo J Corradi was born in Port Cersio, Italy, Dec. 16, 1911, son of the late Frank Corradi and Mrs. Louise Itanti Corradi. In Rye his family lived at 36 Palisade Rd. and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Aldo was a 1934 graduate of Rye High School where he was a star pitcher on the baseball team.

On October 28,1941 Miss Ellen Catherine Melvin became the bride of Aldo Corradi at a ceremony performed in St. Agnes Church, Forest City, PA with the Rev. Dr. Francis McGinley officiating at the mass.

Aldo enlisted July 28, 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 5, 1945 after 3 1/2 years of service.

After the war, Aldo was a waiter captain at the Westchester Country Club for 10 years, holding the post his father had before him for 25 years. He then worked for seven years as waiter captain at the Outpost Restaurant in Port Chester. He also worked as the gate man at the Milton Harbor House.

A member of the Church of the Resurrection and its Holy Name Society, he was also a member of the Port Chester Old Timers and Rye Post 128, American Legion.

Aldo John Corradi, 58, died Monday night November 9, 1970 at his home in Rye.

At the time of his death, in addition to his mother, he was survived by his wife, Ellen Melvin Corradi , a first grade teacher at Midland School; four children, Brother Francis Corradi, S.C. of Jackson Heights, N. Y., Mrs. Daniel Wells of Rye, Miss Agnes Corradi, a senior at Seton Hill College in Greensburg, Pa. and Miss Mary Louise Corradi, a sixth-grade student at Midland School.

A solemn requiem mass was held at the Church of the Resurrection, Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
