Thomas V. Farrell was born on July 19, 1916, in Greenwich, Connecticut. In Rye his family lived at 70 Theodore Fremd Ave. and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. The family consisted of his father Michael, his mother Mary, his older sister Mary, and younger brother William. Thomas’s father was an Irish immigrant, who worked as a farmer. Thomas’s mother was also born in Ireland and was a homemaker.
Thomas was part of the Rye High School class of 1936 and was a member of the varsity baseball team.
After high school Thomas went to NYU and received 3 years of education. For a brief period of time Thomas worked with a financial institution as an appraiser, however his career was brought to a halt, when he was drafted into the Army in April of 1943. Throughout the war Thomas’s unit saw a lot of action, and he personally received a citation from President Harry Truman, for his bravery during the Battle of the Bulge.
Following the war Thomas picked up his career, where he left off. He worked for J.P. Morgan Chase for fifty-two years as a vice-president in the commercial lending area. Tom was an active member of Coveleigh Club in Rye for thirty-six years.

At the time of his death he was survived by his devoted wife of sixty years, Jean (Kelly) Farrell of Briarcliff Manor and their loving daughter, Barbara of Chappaqua. He was predeceased by his sister Anne Dianni of Rye and his brother William Farrell of West Haven, CT.
