Thomas F. Mc Gee
Thomas F. Mc Gee was born January 5, 1915 in Port Chester, NY to Thomas and Bridget Brogan McGee. He had five siblings John, Patrick, Mary, Eileen and Rita. Thomas was educated in Port Chester and graduated from Port Chester HS. His family lived at 155 South Main St.
He married Adelaide Georgia Kirby on March 27, 1938, at St. Bernard’s Church in White Plains, New York. They had six children during their marriage.
Thomas enlisted in the U.S. Navy when he was 28 years old. He served in the Navy from October 28, 1943 to January, 31, 1946, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Prior to 1958, chief petty officer was the highest enlisted grade in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. Thomas is registered in the Naval Museum in Washington, DC.

Thomas and his family lived in Rye from 1938 to 1950 and then lived in Harrison for 52 years. He worked as a Postal Worker for the US Post Office in Rye, NY for 40 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the US Postal Workers Union in Rye.
He was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church and an Honorary Member of the Rye Fire Dept. He will always be remembered for his devotion to his family and his interest in golf.
Thomas F. McGee of Harrison, NY, died April 26, 2003 at his home in Harrison. He was 88.
He was the devoted father of Carol and husband John J. McGowan, Patricia McGee, Maureen and husband John Selvaggio, Kirby and husband Ralph Candela, Thomas and wife Susan McGee and John and wife Noel McGee. He was also the beloved grandfather of Melissa, Jacqueline, Brian, Kelly, Michael, Kacey, Katelyn and Sean and three great-grandchildren. Family members who died earlier include his wife Adelaide Kirby, his brothers John and Patrick McGee and his sisters: Mary McWhinnie and Rita and Eileen McGee.
