Benjamin D. Mitchell was born in New York September 7, 1918 to Fritz and Grace Landin Mitchell. He had one brother Robert and a sister Edna. In Rye his family lived at 14 Summit Ave.
Benjamin was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1937. He was very active in high school especially in bands and Glee Club.
Benjamin would continue his education graduating from Lincoln University in June 1941. He had outstanding musical accomplishments and was a soloist at Carnegie Hall in Pittsburg and a featured soloist with the Philadelphia Chorus at Rittenhouse Square.
He enlisted in 1941 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Benjamin D. Mitchell died February 1, 1993 in Edison, NJ
