Daniel Joseph Petrizzi

Daniel J. Petrizzi was bom May 18 1919 in Barile Italy to Domenick and Grace Cefola Petrizzi. He had three brothers and two sisters. The family moved to Rye in 1926 and he attended Rye schools. In Rye his family lived at 46 High St. Daniel was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1938.

He enlisted in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

After the war Daniel would graduate from Middlebury College. He would win a Fullbright scholarship and study at the Sorbonne in France. Daniel would spend his life in academia earning his doctorate in Modern Languages at Middlebury.
