Lancelot “Paget” Rigby was born on July 10, 1912, in Brooklyn, New York, to Sybil Violet Tullis, age 18, and Arthur Guy Paget Rigby, age 31. He was the youngest of five children, both his parents and his four siblings were born in England.

Paget attended Choate School, Wallingford, Conn. and Burntwood, Caterham, England. In Rye his family lived at 66 Milton Road. In 1940 he was working in NYC for Standen & CO, Inc.

Paget enlisted in 1941 and served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Jeanne Sierer on August 2, 1943, in Ottawa, Ohio, while in service. The ceremony was performed in the chapel at Camp Perry, Ohio, by Chaplain Floyd Cox.

P. Rigby, Blind Brook Lodge, Rye, is now on duty at the Holabird Ordnance Base, Baltimore; Md., taking a course in the Ordnance Automotive School, running to Jan. 13, 1943. This course la one of several automotive courses for officers of the United States Army. They are designed to develop competent automotive officers for operation and maintenance work and cover such subjects as automotive supply, operations, -management, movements, maintenance, tire repairing and rebuilding and convoys.
Lieut. Rigby attended Choate School, Wallingford, Conn., and Burntwood, Caterham, England.

After the war he and his wife divorced in 1946 at the time he was employed by Brooks Brothers By 1950 he had remarried Helen Jurney and was living and working in Virginia. He would soon accept a position to manage a clothing store in Charlottesville, NC.

The Charlottesville a wholly owned subsidiary of Miller & Rhoads, Righy assumes his new duties immediately, succeeding the late C. Elmo Stevens, who died in November.
The new manager had been employed by Brooks Brothers for 16 years.

He and his wife Helen would move to Florida in the early 1960’s.

Lancelot “Paget” Rigby died on October 2, 1984, in Miami-Dade, Florida, at the age of 72, and was buried in Baltimore, Maryland. He was predeceased by his wife who died in 1983. Survivors included two step daughters, Mrs. Barbara Kraus of Irvington New York, Mrs. Gloria R. Miller of Port Chester, New York, four grand children and one great grand child.
