Kenneth Ripnen was born on March 26, 1909, in New York City to August H Ripnen and Mamie M Johnson. He and his sister Mary were raised and educated in Manhattan.

Kenneth married Miss Billie Whited at the First Methodist church at Bristol, Tennessee, on August 12, 1935. At the time he was a prominent architect working in NYC. In Rye his family lived on Cowles Avenue.

Kenneth served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was considered a leading authority and handled space control operations for the U.S. Army before returning to his private practice after the war.

Kenneth was a prominent American management counselor and an expert in office building and layout planning. He was the author of several books on the subject. He was president of the Kenneth H. Ripnen Company, a New York City-based firm of management counselors specializing in office space planning. His published works include: Office Building and Office Layout Planning (1960), Office Space Administration.

Kenneth H. Ripnen died on November 16, 2000 and is buried at Westover Memorial Park Augusta, GA.
