Frank T. Robinson

Frank T. Robinson was born Sept 30 1909 in Port Chester to Frank and Margaret Murphy Robinson. He had three sisters and two brothers. He was raised and educated there and attended Port Chester High School.

He married Margaret Foye on June 18 1938 at Resurrection Church. Frank was then working for the Title Guarantee and Trust Co. in White Plains, NY. In Rye his family lived at 25 Halstead Pl.

Frank enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served in the Navy as a chief petty officer for three years in the Pacific with the Seabees. His service number was 8125739 (SEE MUSTER ROLLS)

The Seabees are the elite construction force of the U.S. Navy, formally known as the Naval Construction Battalions (CBs). Established during World War II, they are famous for their motto, “Construimus, Batuimus” (We Build, We Fight), and their legendary “Can Do” attitude.

Frank Robinson, Jr. , 33 Meadow Place, and James Robert Perry, 19 Goldwyn Street, were accepted by the Navy on July 22, and Donald E, Blanchard, 48 Oakland Gardens, by the Marine Corps.

Frank moved to Harrison after the war and lived there for 54 years. He worked as a land surveyor and was presidents of his own business the Munson Co in White Plains. Frank was a member of the New York Society of Professional Engineers. He was a parishioner of St Gregory’s Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Harrison Knights of Columbus

Frank T Robinson a Harrison resident who grew up in Port Chester died August 5,1996 at his home. He was 86.

Besides his wife he was survived by a daughter Ellen Terese Lindenbaum of Baldwin Md two brothers Edward Robinson of Port Chester and James Robinson of Rumson NJ two sisters Louise Ebbinghaus of SL Augustine Fla and Sally McDermott of Lake Worth Fla and five grandchildren. A son Dr Frank Robinson and two sisters Margaret O’Brien and Mabel Burger died earlier
