Henry Murray Robinson was born on November 4, 1919, in New York City, New York, to Dorita Francina MacElhinny, age 31, and Watson Bryant Robinson. He had three brothers Thomas, James and Murray and one sister, Dorita and in Rye his family lived at 12 Park Drive North.

H. Murray graduated from Country Day School in Greenwich, CT, Portsmouth Abbey in Portsmouth, RI, Harvard College in Cambridge, MA and Fordham Law school in New York City.

Henry enlisted and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He rose to the rank of sergeant while serving in the Air Corps in Texas.

Mrs. Robinson Welcomes Home Four Sons in Military Service

Mrs. Watson B. Robinson, of Park Drive North, welcomed home her four sous in the last few weeks from military service. The eldest, James W. Robinson, was a lieutenant-commander in the U. S. N. R. , and was given a citation for meritorious service at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. His ship had been converted into a hospital ship. He has now resumed his law practice. Murray Robinson, who was in the Air Corps, has taken up the study of engineering at the Harvard Post Graduate School. Thomas Arnold Robinson, the third son, who was also in the Air Corps in the European Theater of War, is studying Greek and Latin at Fordham University. Cecil Robinson, the youngest of the brothers, plans this summer to attend the University of Mexico to study Spanish.

Murray Robinson was associated with Freauff – Robinson at 60 Wall St., New York. A firm where his father was a founder. The Principal client was Cities Service Company, which acquired the firm and moved to Tulsa. Murray and his brother, James W. Robinson joined Cities Service Company and also moved to Tulsa. Murray stayed with Cities Service until his retirement.

In his younger days he was a noted tennis player, club boxer and a small boat sailor. His greatest love was the piano which he played throughout his life. In his retirement years he traveled extensively with friends, to school reunions and to family functions and weddings. He never stopped going. He loved life, loved his friends and was generous to a fault.

Henry Murray Robinson died Friday, November 24, 2006 at the age of 87. He passed away while enjoying his annual Thanksgiving Weekend with his nephew, Daniel Robinson and his family, in Tucson, AZ. Fortunately, most of the family had a chance to talk and joke with him by telephone on Thanksgiving Day.

He was predeceased by: his brothers, James W. Robinson of Broken Arrow, OK, T. Arnold Robinson, SJ and Cecil Robinson of Tucson, AZ. His sister, Dorita Robinson Holland of Broken Arrow also predeceased him.

He was survived by: his sister-in-law, Mary Beckley Robinson (Mrs. James W. Robinson) of Broken Arrow; nieces and nephews, Dorita Holland Urrata of Waterbury CT., Albert E. Holland, Jr. of Kent, CT., Cecilia Robinson Liss of Baltimore, MD and Daniel H. Robinson of Tucson, AZ.

A Memorial was held at St. Thomas Moore Church, 2720 S. 129 E. Ave., Tulsa. A Burial was held at the Robinson Family plot at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
