Leonard Sarachino
Leonard Sarachino was born on November 11, 1919 to Michael Sarachino and Rosaria Paternostro Sarachino. He had three sisters Mildred, Violet and Rose along with two brothers Frank and Anthony. Leonard was educated in Rye schools.
In Rye his family lived at 46 High Street and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.
Leonard enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was in the Pacific Theater seeing action in the Philippines.
On Feb 15 1847 he married Victoria Maider at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester. The couple would have a daughter and settle in Port Chester.
For many years he was the head locker room man at the Apawamis Club. He retired In January -1985
Leonard Sarachino a longtime employee of the Apawamis Club in Rye died Monday in his home in Chester after a long illness. He was 67
At the time of his death iIn addition to his Wife he was survived by his daughter Leslie Testerman and two sisters Mary lantorno and Rose Federice both of Port Chester and two grandchildren.
