Frank Sarachino was born on April 18, 1906 1913 to Michael Sarachino and Rosaria Paternostro Sarachino. He had three sisters Mildred, Violet and Rose along with two brothers Leonard and Anthony. Frank was educated in Rye schools.

In Rye his family lived at 46 High Street and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.

Frank married Josephine Capozzi on April 30, 1928. They had one daughter and one son and were married over 50 years. Tragically their son Frank Jr. died in 1938 at the age of six.

During the depression years of the 1930′ Frank was employed by the W.P.A. Project.

The Works Progress Administration (WPA; renamed in 1939 as the Work Projects Administration) was an American New Deal agency, that employed millions of jobseekers (mostly men who were not formally educated) to carry out public works projects,[1] including the construction of public buildings and roads. It was set up on May 6, 1935, by presidential order, as a key part of the Second New Deal.

Frank enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enlisted on 26 Feb 1944 and was honorably discharged on 19 Oct 1945

After the war, Frank was a self-employed plumber until his retirement in the late 1970’s. For decades Frank and his wife chaired a Mass and festival held at the chapel in West Rye in honor of St. Gertrude.

Frank Sarachino a retired plumber and -longtime Rye resident died Tuesday April 28, 1981 at St Agnes Hospital in Harrison after a brief illness. He was 74. He was predeceased by his wife by five days.

At the time of his death he was survived tor one daughter Mrs. Charles (Ron) Flood of Port Chester three sisters Mary lantorao and Ron Federice both of Port Chester ‘ and Mrs. Harry (Viola) Burkme of Rye and two brothers Anthony of Rye and Leonard of Port Chester.
