Vincent Douglas Savage
Vincent Douglas Savage was born on June 9, 1923, in Harrison, New York, to Margaret J Mc Adams, age 25, and Mark Savage, age 26. He had eight siblings. In Rye his family lived at 59 Florence Ave and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. He was a graduate of Harrison High School and before the war he was working for the Homelite Corp. in Port Chester.
Vincent enlisted and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Pfc. Vincent Savage Graduates From Army Aircraft School MADISON. WIS,
Pfc. Vincent Savage, 21, son of Mrs. Margaret Savage of 59 Florence Street, Rye, has been graduated from the AAF Training Commands aircraft radio mechanics school at Truax Field where he studied the servicing of radio equipment used on U. S. bombers and fighter planes, it was announced by the post commander. Trained primarily as a technician, he also studied defense against chemical warfare, aircraft identification, and related AAF subjects designed to fit him for combat duty.

In 1956 Vincent married Maryanne Paape and both were employees of the NY Telephone Company. Vincent worked for the phone company for over 30 years retiring from Verizon.
He will always be remembered for his keen wit, sense of humor and love of family.
Vincent (Doug) Savage, devoted husband, father, grandfather and longtime resident of Rye, passed away on October 11, 2002.
In addition to his wife Maryanne, Vincent was survived by a son Douglas and his wife Cheryl of Rhode Island; two daughters Monique Reilly and her husband Chuck of Larchmont, Suzanne Archino and her husband Joseph of Rye, numerous nieces and nephews as well as five grandchildren CJ, Connor, Bridget, Joey and Danny.
Vincent is also survived by his brothers James, Raymond, Richard and sisters Jean Areson and Muriel Savage. He was predeceased by three brothers: Mark, George and Gregory.A.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Church of the Resurrection, Rye, NY. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Chester, NY.
