Leslie F. Shepard

Leslie F. Shepard was born in Port Chester on June 14, 1918, to Harry and Eva Klaes Shepard. He had four sisters and one brother and in Rye his family lived at 33 Marathon Place. He was a graduate of Port Chester High School and before the war was working for R. B. and W.
Bolt and Nut Company..

He married Miss Eve Skuse May 30, 1941 at St. Peter’s Church in Port Chester. They would have two children during their marriage.

Leslie enlisted February 26,1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended radio school in Oklahoma and in 1944 was stationed at Camp Cooke, CA. He rose to the rank of sergeant and received his honorable discharge February 19, 1946.

In 1950, he was working as a television technician and living in Mamaroneck, NY. Later, he was a supervisor at the Pitney Bowes training center in Stamford.

Leslie F. Shepard, a former Port Chester resident, 44 Putnam Park Road, Bethel, Conn., died February 27, 1981 at Danbury Hospital. He was 62, and moved to Bethel three-and-a-half years ago.

At the time of his death he was survived by his wife, Edith Poole Shepard of the home address; two sons, Paul of Hudson, N.Y. and Stephen, of Boulder, Colo.; a stepson, James Brown of Sherman, Conn.; three stepdaughters, Tanja Shepard of Bethel, Mrs. Anda Barbera of Danbury and Kathleen Brown of Sherman, Conn.; four sisters, Mrs.
Ethel Halstead of Rye, Mrs. Arlene Todenhagen of Lake George, Mrs. Shola McMillan of Seneca Lake, N.Y., and Mrs. Marsha Skoog of Cranford, N.J.; two grandchildren..
