Joseph F. Sinto

Joseph F. Sinto was born March 26, 1906, in Rye, NY, to Michael and Angelina Rich Sinto. He grew up in Rye and attended its public schools. In Rye his family lived at 204 North Street.

Joseph enlisted and served in the U.S. Army. During World War II, he served as a technician in the U.S. Army. Among his citations were the World War II Victory Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

On Feb.

23, 1959, Joseph married Susan Mitaly in Stamford, Conn. They settled in Port Chester soon after. He was a maintenance worker for the Blind Brook Club in Purchase for 39 years before retiring in 1975.

Joseph Sinto, a longtime Port Chester resident, died of a heart attack yesterday at United Hospital Medical Center in Port Chester. He was 84.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, a brother, John of Rye; and a sister, Lucy Bradway of Schenectady, N.Y. He was predeceased by his brother Daniel Sinto another Veteran of WWII

Family and friends made donations to the Port Chester-Rye Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Arrangements were handled by Craft Memorial Home Inc.
