Walter J. Otto




Walter J Otto and his twin brother Charles F. were born on January 17, 1923, their father, Walter, was 39, and their mother, Delia, was 36. He had two brothers and one sister. In Rye his family lived at 8 Locust Ave and were parishioners of the Church of the Resurrection.


Walter J Otto enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps on March 19, 1943, in New York City, New York, during World War II. He was 20 years old. He would serve in WWII from March 1943 until honorably discharged in December 1945.

During World War II. Walter would marry an English girl. They would live in the Veterans housing located at 1305 Boston Post Road. Together they would have 2 children Janet and Michael.

Walter's service would continue during the Korean War when he reenlisted in the Air Corps March 1, 1951 and he would continue to serve during the Vietnam War retiring in August 1969.

He married Blanche Irene Brochey on October 29, 1956, in New York. They had one child during their marriage.

He died on January 29, 1998, in Hillsborough, Florida, at the age of 75.
