Description

Ambrose C. Cotrone

Ambrose Critch Cotrone was born on December 5, 1922, in Greenwich, Connecticut, to Jesse Critch, age 24, and Fred Cotrone, age 28. He had one brother Raymond and a sister Louise and in Rye his family lived at 9 Garden Drive.

Ambrose enlisted before the war on October 28, 1940. He served as a Seaman 2nd class in the U.S. Navy during World War II. (See Muster Rolls)

U. S. Navy through the Navy recruiting office at White Plains.
Robert E. Wolfe, of 203 Oakland
Beach Avenue, is now at the Naval
Training Station at Newport, R. I.,
where he will receive a five weeks
course of instruction in general navy
routine, after which he will be assigned to one of the ships of the
U. S. fleet, or to one of the many
trade schools that the Navy maintains.
Ambrose C. Cotrone, of 227 Milton
Road, who enlisted on October 28, is
also at the Navy’s Training Station
at Newport awaiting assignment.

After his honorable discharge, he married Audrey Marie Lindstrom on February 9, 1946, in New York. They had four children during their marriage.

Ambrose and his family would reside in Bethpage, NY. He was a long time employee of Grumman Aerospace until his retirement.

Ambrose Critch Cotrone died on February 19, 2005, in Bethpage, New York, at the age of 82. of Bethpage, on February 19, 2005.

He was predeceased by his wife Audrey and survived by his children, Alan, Andrew, Abigail McConathy and Audrey Siska also, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Maspeth, NY.
