Paul Beckwith Herrick

Paul Beckwith Herrick was born on December 10, 1920, in Pennsylvania to Florence Balwin Ayer, age 30, and Clarence Allen Herrick, age 33. He had two brothers Alan and Carson and one sister Florence. In Rye his family lived at 66 Milton Road and were members of the Presbyterian Church.

Paul graduated from Deerfield Academy, Deerfield Mass in 1939 and Kenyon College, Gambier Ohio in 1943. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta and the American Yacht Club in Rye.

He married Jane Anne Sebring June 23, 1943 daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Merle Sebring of 40 Avon Road, Bronxville, at her home.

The Rev. Harold F. Hohly officiated.

Paul served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was commissioned on June 16, 1943 at the United States Naval Reserve Midshipmen’s School, Columbia University, New York and reported for duty in Oregon.

He was the retired director of marketing of the Shipley Co and former president of LW Ferdinand Co. Weston, MA. He was a member of the Weston Golf Club, Edgartown Golf Club and River Hills Country Club. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, York.

Paul Beckwith Herrick, 69, of 15 King Haigler Chase died June 18 1990 at his home.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife Jane Anne Sebring Herrick, sons William Herrick, Needham Mass and Paul Herrick Jr , Banner Elk, NC, daughter Mrs Jan Mueller, Denver, Colo, brother Allan Herrick, Hillsborough, NC, sister Mrs Florence Carnegie, Colorado Springs Colo and nine grandchildren.

Funeral was held at River Hills Community Church with the Rev Layne Smith officiating. A Memorial service was also held at St Peter’s Episcopal Church, Weston, Ma. Burial was in the church cemetery.
