Richard Harrison Lowe was born on July 22, 1915, in St Louis, Missouri, to Irene E . Pierce Moses, age 32, and Henry Leland Lowe, age 33. He had a sister Kathrine and one brother H Leland Lowe Jr. and in Rye his family lived on North Street. He was a graduate of the Phillips Academy in Andover, MA and Cornell University, class of 1937.
At Cornell he was an engineering student and started ” The Future War Munition Workers” club which became affiliated with the then Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Richard served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Promoted to 1st Lieutenant;
Announcement was made this week of the promotion of Richard H. Lowe, of North Street, from 2nd to 1st lieutenant By headquarters of the Engineers Amphibian Command at Camp Edwards.

Richard Harrison Lowe died on September 27, 2011, in Bradenton West, Florida, at the age of 96.
