William F. Morris was born September 13, 1926, in Ohio, his father, Paul, was 31 and his mother, Martha Mangold Morris, was 26. He had one brother Paul and a sister Martha. In Rye his family lived at 321 Rye Beach Avenue.

William was a graduate of Milton School and Rye High School, Class of 1944. In high school he served on many various committees and was active in sports.

He enlisted in 1945 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Enlisting in the Army Air Corps he was sent as a student cadet to the University of Buffalo and then to active service.

Following his return he attended Cleveland College and then entered New York University’ School of Education where he won a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in business practices, sales and merchandising.

William was appointed teacher of business practices at Samuel Gompers Vocational and Technical High School in New York City He was later employed by Lloyd Associate, Ltd.

He married Eileen Cantwell Ohnell on August 14, 1954, in Rye, New York. Eileen passed away on May 8, 1965, in Redding Ridge, Connecticut, at the age of 34. They had been married 10 years.

William F. Morris died on January 24, 1984, in Sussex, England, at the age of 57.
