Graham White Rundle

Graham White Rundle was born on February 6, 1924, in Danbury, Connecticut, to Marion W Haines and Merritt Rundle.

He had one brother Rowland and in Rye his family lived at 10 Ellsworth St.. Graham was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1943.

He enlisted January 21, 1944 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. His service number was 42068515 and he served with the 241st Medical Battalion.

The 241st Medical Battalion (later designated as the 241st Medical Detachment) has a lineage tied to several significant World War II units and historical transitions within the U.S. Army Medical Department. During World War II, a 241st General Hospital was active towards the end of the war.

In WWII, medical battalions were divisional units tasked with evacuating and caring for casualties from Infantry Battalion and Regimental Aid Stations to more permanent medical facilities

Following the war, various medical units were reorganized. The “241st” designation appeared as the 241st Medical Detachment (MB), which was later associated with larger formations like the 44th Medical Brigade.

Graham was honorably discharged on May 13, 1946.

After the war he moved to Arizona and graduated the University of Arizona in 1951 with a BA in Business.

Graham married Mary Helen Gil on August 30, 1958 at at All Saints Catholic Church In Tucson, AZ . They had two children during their marriage.

For many years he was associated with Hughes Aircraft.

Graham White Rundle died on March 16, 2019, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 95, and was buried there.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary Helen and was survived by a daughter Lisa Rundle Smith a son Anthony Merritt.
