Joseph Tropeano

Joseph Tropeano was born on May 25, 1910, in Port Chester, New York, to Emilia Farriello and Antonio V. Tropeano. He was raised and educated in Port Chester and Rye. In Rye his family lived at 16 Redfield Street .

Joseph enlisted November 27, 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served as a private with the Army engineers and was honorably discharge November 30, 1944.

He married Maria Tropeano on July 2, 1947, at Holy Rosary in Port Chester. They had three children during their marriage.

Joseph worked as a brick layer for construction throughout Westchester. He was a member of Resurrection Church, Rye, NY.

Joseph Tropeano, 90, of Rye, died September 27, 2000 at his home. He was buried at St Mary’s Cemetary.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife Maria Tropeano, sons Anthony Tropeano and Angelo Salvatore Tropeano, daughter Emilia Tropeano, 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild, sisters Rose Sorbara and Mary Stranieri. He was predeceased by his father, mother, sisters Josephine Tropeano, Helen Tucci, Vera Paladino, and Anna Luzzi.
