Chester Arthur Perry was born on October 9, 1921, in Pleasantville, New Jersey, to Addie Ruth Coles, age 33, and Joel Chester Perry, age 40. He had two brothers Edwin T. and Frederick R. and two sisters. In Rye his family lived at 37 New Street.
Chester enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Chester served in the Quartermasters Corps in the Pacific and rose to the rank of sergeant. His service number was 12044938
The U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps played a vital role in the Pacific Theater during WWII by providing essential logistical support, including food, clothing, fuel, and general supplies, to Allied troops across vast distances.
Perry In Burma.Sgt. Chester A. Perry wrote from somewhere on the Burma Road that he is with a motor truck company and general is finding it quite exciting.’ He’s been in that area for two years.

Chester served for 2 1/2 years and received a line of duty medical discharge in December 1944.
Chester Arthur Perry died on March 3, 1969, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 47, and was buried in Whittier, California.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his mother and three siblings.
